D8 Dogs Find No Shelter From Storm, Lose 3-1

Storm Notch First Win At Dogs Expense

SKYRINK, August 5, 2006 – The Sled Dogs took a step backward tonight falling victim to an energized Storm team as they were consistently beaten to the loose pucks and seemed to come up short in most of the one on one battles.

The news was not all bad for the Dogs, however, as the transition game came alive to spark several dangerous scoring opportunities and resulted in one very pretty goal. The breakout began as defenseman Howard Krulewitz gathered the puck behind the Sled Dogs net, skated the puck up ice until Right Wing Harry Cohen was able to free himself from the Storm defense.

Once Cohen received Krulewitz’s pass, the fun began. Cohen and Center Arlo Klinger criss-crossed as they entered the Storm zone and Cohen backhanded a pass right on Klinger’s tape before charging to the far post. Seeing the play, Klinger slipped a pass through two Storm defenders and right to Cohen who neatly one-timed the puck past the stunned Storm netminder.

Center Gordon Feinberg also had a strong game as his line was buzzing around the Storm net for stretches. Feinberg even ended up in the Storm net one time after creating a dangerous scoring chance that tested the Storm goalie.

The Sled Dogs next game is August 12 at 7:00pm vs. Kenyon.
