Kenyon Files Late Restraining Order to Win
SKYRINK, June 24, 2006 – The Sled Dogs offensive production has been somewhat underwhelming so far this season but not for a lack of chances. The Dogs continued that trend tonight creating numerous offensive chances all game but failed to capitalize on all but one, losing a competitive game to Kenyon.
Red-hot Will McMahan notched the only goal for the Sled Dogs as they took an early 1-0 lead. McMahan wasn’t the only forward creating plays, however, as all four offensive lines were buzzing the net all game creating opportunities. Combined with a stubborn defense, the Dogs positioned themselves to claim victory against the plotting trial lawyers but true to form the shysters used a well-known legal tactic late in the contest.
Assembling their own “dream team,” Kenyon began double shifting big-city barrister Ortiz – Esq., whose procedural (stick-handling) knowledge was too much for the small-town Dogs to handle. Ortiz successfully maneuvered through the Sled Dog defense and set up the tying and go-ahead goals.
Captain Alicia Walker used a common tactic herself late in the game by pulling goaltender Dom Ardolino, which created additional pressure in the offensive zone but Kenyon was able to ice the game with an empty-netter as time ticked away.
Notes – McMahan channeled his draft day disappointment into a productive night. Sources say he was hoping to be drafted by the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes but was overlooked…The Sled Dogs next game is July 8 at 11:30pm vs. the Storm.

I guess Will’s dreams of joining linemate E. Cole on the big team took a hit, but he can still play with E. Cole on the Sled Dogs!

hey d8 — sorry to hear about the tough loss (too many sled dog slushie-induced hangovers?) but keep playing hard and those wins will come!

The scouts said my big, bruising, enforcer-style won’t cut it in the “New NHL.” So I guess the dogs are stuck with me for atleast another couple of months.
