Hold Off Late Charge; Walker Celebrates First Win as Captain
SKY RINK, NY, April 29, 2006 – The Sled Dogs charged out fast with 3 first period goals and then hung on down the stretch to begin the Spring 2006 season with an impressive 3-2 victory over the Storm. Forward Harry Cohen broke out with 2 goals and 1 assist and Center Gordon Feinberg notched 3 assists to lead the Dogs. After the first period, one Sled Dog even commented how the Storm seemed more like a pleasant sun shower. At that point the score was 3-0 Sled Dogs and it looked like the Storm would be ineffective all game.

Win 6-4; No Welcome Mat for Hockey Hegemony
SKY RINK, NY, April 29, 2006 – The Sled Dogs opened the Spring 2006 season with a solid all-around effort in defeating Hockey Hegemony 6-4, relying on an old formula but also sprinkling in some new ingredients. He might have had more, too, if 2 of his other shots had found twine instead of iron as they rattled off the post.
Rich Lee also netted 2 goals in a game that featured a couple of major momentum swings and some chippy play late. Jack Whalen, a new Sled Dog this season, displayed impressive stickhandling skills and overall playmaking ability, scoring once and just missing on several other quality chances. “When my conditioning gets where it should be, I’ll have better luck finishing the plays,” said Whalen.
